Port
Quinta de la Rosa White Port, Portugal .
A first class aperitif wine, this has a beautiful amber/honey colour. This Port has been lightly filtered with no fining and requires no decanting. It should be served slightly chilled and is also a good compliment to rich pates and fois gras. Good to drink cold as an aperitif or with a mixer.
Quinta de la Rosa Finest Réserve Port, Portugal .
Restrained and elegant, this has a lovely sweet black fruit with a nice juxtaposition of sweetness, alcohol and acidity. It also has some lovely complex flavours of prune, fig and nuts.
Niepoort Colheita Port, Portugal .
Unlike your vintage ports this has been in wood, rather than bottle-aged and therefore does not need decanting. Supremely elegant.
Churchill 1985 Vintage Port, Portugal .
Aged for two years in the traditional 600 litre casks (pipas) piled high in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, this 1995 Vintage Port, after 16 years of maturation has begun to reveal its true character. The full force and beauty of the vintage flavour is released as the bottle is opened – a profusion of black and red fruits, blackcurrants, blackberries and fruits of the forest combine with the gloriously perfumed scents of chocolate, tobacco and liquorice. The taste is immensely rich…
Sherry
37.5cl Lustau Almacenista Amontillado de Jerez, Spain .
An outstanding example of Jerez’s classic Amontillado wines. A jewel bright dark gold colour, with penetrating and nutty aromas. On the palate the wine is elegant, powerful, rich and dry, yet light, with a warming, lingering finish. Awarded Silver Medal at the IWC 2004.
37.5cl Lustau Almacenista Manzanilla Pasada de Sanlucar, Spain .
Pale straw in colour, this Manzanilla Pasada is delightfully aromatic, reminiscent of green apples. Dry and fresh, light, yet with substance and body and a refreshing acidity. Awarded Gold Medal at the IWC 2005. A wonderful apéritif or to accompany seafood and fish dishes.
37.5cl Lustau Almacenista Oloroso Pata de Gallina, Spain .
Dark gold in colour, with aromas of dried fruits. Very rich and concentrated with a powerful intensity on the palate, found in the oldest soleras of Oloroso sherries. Awarded Bronze Medal at the IWC 2004. Good aperitif with toasted almonds or to accompany game or with cheese.
